The Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy (OICA) is preparing to host its annual Heroes Ball, an event aimed at recognising individuals and organisations that have made significant contributions to improving the lives of children across the state. Organisers say ticket demand for the 2026 gathering is already strong as supporters, advocates and community leaders prepare to celebrate Oklahoma’s “Heroes for Children”.
The event, which also offers corporate and individual table sponsorship opportunities, serves as one of OICA’s key fundraising initiatives. Proceeds from ticket sales and sponsorship packages will support the organisation’s advocacy work, legislative engagement efforts and training programmes focused on child welfare and youth development.
This year’s Heroes Ball will also recognise Pivot, A Turning Point for Youth, as the recipient of the 2026 Organisational Advocate Award. The Oklahoma City-based non-profit organisation has been recognised for its continued work supporting vulnerable young people facing housing instability, trauma and other significant barriers.
In announcing the award, OICA highlighted Pivot’s broad approach to youth support services and its focus on long-term outcomes for disadvantaged young people in Oklahoma City and surrounding communities.
“At Pivot, they believe that no youth should be left to navigate life alone, especially youth facing extreme barriers such as housing insecurity and childhood trauma,” the announcement stated.
Pivot operates several programmes designed to provide what the organisation describes as wrap-around support services. These initiatives are structured around four primary areas of care: “basic needs and housing, education and employment, permanent connections, and overall health and well-being.”
The organisation’s programmes aim to help young people transition successfully into adulthood by addressing both immediate needs and long-term stability. According to the announcement, the support provided through these initiatives is intended to help participants complete their education, gain employment skills and build stronger personal support systems.
“By supporting our youth in these four key areas, Pivot gives them the tools they need to graduate high school, pursue higher education, learn independent living skills, develop healthy coping mechanisms, and build job readiness to set their course for a hopeful future.”
The recognition comes at a time when many youth-focused charities and advocacy groups across the United States continue to face growing demand for services linked to homelessness, economic hardship and mental health challenges among young people.
OICA described Pivot as “a force for good, turning young lives around and setting their course for a hopeful future,” underscoring the organisation’s role within Oklahoma’s wider child advocacy network.
The Heroes Ball itself has become a prominent fixture in the state’s non-profit and civic calendar, bringing together donors, policymakers, educators and advocacy professionals. Organisers say the event not only celebrates achievement but also raises awareness around issues affecting children and families throughout Oklahoma.
In addition to ticket sales, OICA is encouraging supporters to purchase sponsorship tables as tribute opportunities for honoured guests. The organisation believes these contributions play an important role in sustaining advocacy efforts and expanding access to support programmes for children and families.
“Your Heroes Ball ticket or sponsorship purchase is a tangible way to support efforts to improve the quality of life for all Oklahoma’s children, through legislative action, effective advocacy, and training those who share OICA’s commitment to our youngest residents.”
The organisation has also urged attendees to secure tickets early as availability becomes increasingly limited ahead of the event.
“Tickets are going fast, so you want to get yours right away to help OICA honor our state’s HEROES FOR CHILDREN and Pivot, A Turning Point for Youth!”
While the event is centred on recognition and fundraising, it also reflects a broader trend of increased collaboration between advocacy organisations, charitable foundations and local communities seeking to address long-term challenges facing vulnerable young people.
OICA’s continued emphasis on legislative advocacy and public engagement has positioned the organisation as a key voice in Oklahoma’s child welfare sector. By pairing fundraising with public recognition of service providers such as Pivot, the Heroes Ball aims to strengthen both financial support and community awareness around youth-focused initiatives.
The 2026 event is expected to draw a wide cross-section of civic leaders, donors and advocates committed to improving outcomes for children across the state.
