The 12-time All-Star Roberto Alomer, who has served as a major league baseball consultant, was placed on the league’s disqualification list in 2014 following an investigation into allegations of sexual misconduct.

MLP Commissioner Rob Manfred said in a statement on Friday that an independent inquiry had been launched into the allegations.

“After reviewing all the evidence available from the now-completed investigation, I came to the conclusion that Mr. Alomer violated MLP policies and guaranteed that his adviser terminated the contract and that MLP was placed on the disqualification list.” Manfred said.

“We are grateful for the courage of the person who brought up the allegation.

MLP did not release further details about the incident.

“I am surprised, disappointed and disappointed by today’s news,” Alomer said in a statement posted on his social media network.

“I understand why Major League Baseball made the decision based on what happened. My hope is that this allegation can be heard in the relevant forum and allow me to resolve the allegation directly,” he added.

“I will continue to spend my time pursuing children’s baseball dreams,” Alomer said.

The Toronto Blue Zeus, which won two World Series titles from 1991 to 1995, expressed support for the MLP’s decision and said they would sever all ties with the Alome. Among other highlights of his career in Toronto, Blue Zeus has announced that the banner will also be removed from the Rogers Center for Coring Ravi, the team’s 12th retiree.

The Baseball Hall of Fame, which Alomer added in 2011, said his restoration would be in place.

“I am shocked and saddened by the news shared today about Baseball Hall of Fame Roberto Alomer,” Hall of Fame president Jane Forbes Clark said in a statement. “When he was inducted into the Hall of Fame by the American Baseball Writers’ Association in class in 2011, Alomer was a well-deserved candidate. His plates will be on display at the Hall of Fame.

Alomer played for the San Diego Patres, Blue Zeus, Baltimore Orioles, Cleveland Indians, New York Mets, Chicago White Sox and Arizona Diamondboxes for 17 years. He won the World Series with the Blue Jazz in 1992 and 1993 and won the Golden Glove 10 times on the second floor.
