The McDonald’s Nichols Organization has launched a new community initiative designed to help teachers prepare for the upcoming school year by providing classroom supplies through its “McWish Granted!” campaign. The program will award up to $250 in classroom materials to five educators serving communities across northeast Oklahoma, reinforcing the organization’s commitment to supporting local schools and educators.

The campaign is open to teachers employed by school districts within the McDonald’s Nichols Organization’s service area, including Bartlesville, Claremore, Owasso, Pryor, Skiatook, and surrounding communities. Organizers say the initiative is intended to ease the financial burden many educators face as they purchase classroom supplies with their own money before the start of a new academic year.

Beginning immediately and continuing through August 7, eligible educators are invited to participate by posting a link to their classroom wish list in the comments section of the official McDonald’s Nichols Organization Facebook campaign post.

At the conclusion of the campaign, five educators will each receive up to $250 worth of classroom supplies. Rather than issuing cash awards, the organization will purchase the requested educational materials directly from each winning teacher’s submitted wish list.

To qualify, educators must work for a school district located within one of the McDonald’s Nichols Organization communities, and submitted wish lists must contain classroom-related educational supplies.

The initiative reflects the organization’s continued investment in the communities it serves while recognizing the important role educators play in helping students succeed. Teachers often spend personal funds to equip their classrooms with essential materials, making community support programs increasingly valuable as schools prepare to welcome students back for the new school year.

“Supporting education has always been close to our hearts,” said Thomas Nichols, Owner/Operator of the McDonald’s Nichols Organization. “Teachers invest so much of themselves into their students, and many spend their own money to create the best possible learning environment. We hope this initiative helps ease that burden while showing our appreciation for everything they do.”

The campaign is also rooted in the Nichols family’s longstanding connection to education. Before becoming a McDonald’s Owner/Operator, Thomas Nichols’ father, Glen Nichols, served as a school superintendent during the 1980s. His experience in public education gave him firsthand knowledge of the challenges teachers encounter and the resources necessary to help students thrive.

That family history has continued to shape the organization’s approach to community involvement, particularly when it comes to supporting schools and educators. The McWish Granted! campaign builds on those values by providing practical assistance that can have an immediate impact inside local classrooms.

“My dad has always believed that education changes lives,” said Thomas Nichols, Owner/Operator of the McDonald’s Nichols Organization. “Before he owned McDonald’s restaurants, he was a superintendent, so he saw firsthand how often teachers go above and beyond for their students, many times purchasing classroom supplies out of their own pockets. That passion for supporting educators has been part of our family’s values from the very beginning. We’re proud to continue that legacy by helping provide teachers with the resources they need to create successful classrooms.”

As schools prepare for the new academic year, the McWish Granted! campaign offers local educators an opportunity to receive additional classroom resources while highlighting the role businesses can play in supporting public education. By helping teachers obtain supplies that directly benefit students, the initiative aims to strengthen classrooms across northeast Oklahoma and recognize the dedication educators demonstrate throughout the school year.
