The Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) announced that it will launch the H3 rocket, the country's new flagship rocket, next February, after two failed attempts in early 2023.

The JAXA is investigating the reasons for the failure of the launches and implementing the necessary measures to achieve the success of the maneuver. H3 will launch again from the Tanegashima Space Center, in Kagoshima (southwest), on February 15, 2024, as detailed by the JAXA. .

This is the third attempt to put the H3 rocket into orbit, which was named to replace the H2-A and H2-B models used by the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency to put satellites into orbit, and the second rocket used by the JAXA for this mission.

The first rocket was supposed to lift off last February (about two years later than the first scheduled date, due to problems with the LE-9 engine), but failed to do so due to an apparent failure of its supplementary boosters.

After the failure, countermeasures were implemented and H3 again attempted to reach Earth's orbit a month later, in March, in a maneuver, again without success: the Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency activated the self-destruct of the rocket minutes after lift-off due to a malfunction that prevented its launch.
