British company Fering Technologies introduced a hybrid SUV called ‘Pioneer’, with a range of 7000 km, reach Auto Express Magazine.

Since Ferring was founded by Ben Scott Geddes, a former Ferrari and McLaren engineer, the company has used many methods derived from supercars to lose weight when building its own cars. For example, the Pioneer chassis is made of Canvas panels. The company insists that this material has better insulating properties and withstands damage to the car in off-road conditions. Thanks to this peculiarity, the Pioneer is a fairly light car for its dimensions, weighing about 1,500 kilograms.

The vehicle’s powertrain consists of two electric motors (one for each axle) and a lithium titanium oxide battery, designed to withstand harsh weather conditions. This system is powered by an additional 800 cc diesel engine, which provides Maximum 7000 km. The wheels are 22.5 inches in diameter and will accept a standard size truck tire.

In addition, it can be a Pioneer Adapts to different types of fuel. There are plans for an ethanol engine for Brazil and a version of hydrogen fuel cells for Asia. Serial production of the truck is scheduled to begin in the UK In the first half of 2022.
