Havana officials deny false information about expired food sales

Do they sell expired food stolen from containers in Havana? For the second time in a few months, misinformation and warnings have spread on social media, causing concern among residents of the capital. As a result, the authorities of the capital have denied this and are back on the field.

By Diary Havana’s Havana Tribune and other state media reported that the container and its contents, which were allegedly abandoned in Havana, were being re-circulated on social media about expired goods being sold at low prices. Totally false.

According to the report, people who consume these products are suffering from vomiting and diarrhea, and the source of this information is the Buenos Aires magazine on Cuban television.

They deny the hoax about selling expired food in Havana

The Ministry of Health advises not to buy any ARCOR brand products as the presence of Salmonella bacteria has been detected in infected people.

This information is completely wrong. We reiterate that people must be informed through official channels,” they conclude.

Recently, another “fake news” or hoax was also circulated where it was again claimed that the distribution manual would be removed in Cuba. Again, the authorities refused. In times of crisis like the present, this misinformation can multiply.

Recently, officials in Havana have denied a report circulating on social networks about the prices of certain food items, via the official newspaper of the Cuban capital, Tribuna.

According to the media, the news is false and untrue. The fake news showed a document purporting to update food prices in markets and shops in the public and private sectors.
