Google is working with major media houses to design an artificial intelligence (AI)-based tool that will help journalists report and write their stories, the tech giant announced on Thursday.

American Journal The New York Times first reported the projectIn this he collaborates with The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal in testing the new product.

Citing anonymous sources, the newspaper report says the tool is known locally “Genesis”, It’s in the early stages of testing, but some executives who have seen its capabilities find it “disturbing.”

“In conjunction with the media, especially small media, We are in the early stages of research ideas to give journalists AI tools to help them in their work,” a Google spokesperson said in a statement.

He added, “Simply put, these tools are not intended to, or replace, the vital role journalists play in reporting, creating and verifying their stories.”

The tool works as a kind of co-pilot for reporters and editors, offering headline options or different writing formats depending on the technology.

The announcement of this Google project came after the news of an agreement between OpenAI and Associated Press (AP)This gave the creator of ChatGPT a license to train AI using files from the international news agency dating back to 1985.

“This arrangement allows OpenAI to license a portion of AP’s text archive, while AP leverages OpenAI’s technology and product expertise,” the two organizations said in a joint statement last week.

Last year’s appearance of ChatGPT and other generative AI developments was capable of generating all kinds of text or images It starts with a simple questionIt caused great concern among content creators such as artists, authors or journalists.
