Game of Futures Stars will have “Ray Felix” and Beltre as coaches

Felix Hernandez will be back on the field at T-Mobile Park during All-Star weekend along with other key figures in Mariners history.

“El Rey Felix” will be part of the coaching staff for the SiriusXM All-Star Game of the Future, where the best prospects in the minors will go head-to-head. The game will be played on Saturday, July 8 at 7 PM ET.

As revealed in May, former Mariners players Harold Reynolds (American League) and Raul Ibanez (National League) will be the managers of each team, while the rest of the coaching staff was announced Friday.

Hernandez, a six-time All-Star and 2010 AL Cy Young Award winner, will serve as the NL pitching coach. Dominican Adrian Beltre, a four-time All-Star and two Gold Gloves winner in a Mariners uniform (2005-09), will coach NL Puerto Rican Joel Pineiro (bullpen coach), Randy Winn (first base coach) and bench coach. Dan Otero (Quality Control) will be part of the NL

The AL team led by Reynolds — who spent 10 years with the Mariners — also included some big names. Jamie Moyer, who spent 11 of his 25-year career with the Mariners, will be the pitching coach. Alvin Davis, 1984 AL Rookie of the Year, hitting coach. Jay Buhner will do the same at first base, while Mike Cameron will take over at third base.
