Salamanca really has a new cultural space: It’s about space Saint Candidathrough which the Daughters of Jesus group seeks to announce the work of its founder. This Saturday, June 17th, the opening took place at Montilano Residential Hall in the capital of Salamanca.

Afterwards, he invited those present to ask themselves, as Santa Candida did at the time, how to improve the world and “choose poverty for themselves in order to enrich others.”
Similarly, Frankovig notes that behind the project “there is an idea that we’ve always tried to keep in mind: The passionate approach to the founder, as well as an appreciation of her person and what she allowed God to do with her. They want to make it understandable, close, emphasize its individuality, ”the district chief assures.
Once completed, the Daughters of Jesus, a hundred laymen associated with them and representatives of the Church in Salamanca visited the floors that make up the space. A place of prayer, inspiration and learning, a living testament to the strength and commitment of women who followed in Jesus’ footsteps, seeking solutions to the harsh social realities of their time.
Santa Candida’s work
Santa Candida, a woman of little culture and few material means, ventured to found a congregation by the name of Hijas de Jesús, dedicated to the education and education of children and youth.
On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, the President General called for a Jubilee Year in 2021 in which various projects were developed to honor the founder and modernize the charisma. Among them, the creation of an exhibition space adapted to the current religious sensibility, that would bring present generations closer to the figure of Santa Candida.
In this way, the new Santa Candida exhibition space allows us to understand the founder in her historical context and to present her as a woman of the nineteenth century.
As defined by the provincial president, the new cultural space maintains respect and appreciation for things, but at the same time gives them context, dignity and greater reinforcement. In addition, it offers an updated and comprehensive portrait of Mother Candida and the opportunity to immerse yourself in her inner world to understand how her attraction has shaped over time. It is a place for contemplation and observation, where lights and sounds envelop the viewer in immersive experiences that allow him to understand the circumstances and motivations behind his work.
