Ecuador, 2022 World Cup opener: What time does it start and how to watch it on TV and online

(CNN Spanish) — The Qatar 2022 World Cup kicks off on November 20 with a match between host nation Qatar and Ecuador. Originally, the opening match was Netherlands-Senegal (belonging to Group A playing Qatar and Ecuador), but, finally, FIFA decided to change it and maintain the tradition of the host hosting the tournament. The match will be held at the Al Bad Stadium in Ghor.

Ecuador, led by Gustavo Albaro, qualified directly for the World Cup after finishing fourth in the South American qualifiers. Now he has a chance to shock the world in his first match against Qatar. This will be Ecuador’s fourth World Championship.

Qatar, on the other hand, under the leadership of Spanish coach Felix Sanchez Paz, is playing its first match at the World Cup, the first in its history.
