A change in Dayana Mendoza's life

In September 2022, she did an interview with Venezuelan journalist Luis Olavarrieta in which she recalled her time at Miss Venezuela, her win at Miss Universe, and the affection people have shown her over the years.

The correspondent asked her how she reacts to what she considers to be the most successful Venezuelan Miss Universe, to which she replied: “I don't want to be confused, Luis, I try not to ask too much. About who I really am, I value so much, I value people's affection so much, it's a gift, a blessing, to feel that love and respect from so many people, but I don't want to feel appreciated, they put me in some position, that we're all human, we shouldn't idolize anyone. I think, in my heart I adore and idolize only Almighty God.
