Jade Cargill, Natalya and more WWE stars responded today to a surprise release that occurred at the company on Friday.
The promotion merged with UFC parent company Endeavor in September. As a result of the merger, many NXT and main roster superstars were released. More than 100 employees behind the scenes were also laid off, and today that number has increased.
It has been reported that some more company employees have been promoted today. NXT interviewer McKenzie Mitchell, a screen star who was fired. Her husband, NXT commentator Vic Joseph, shared a touching message today following his wife’s departure from the company.
Mackenzie Mitchell announced her departure from the company today on social media and thanked everyone for their support.
Stars like Jade Cargill, Natalya, Indy Hartwell, Matt Cardona, Chelsea Green and more responded to her post on social media. Everyone wished Mitchell well, and Matt Cardona jokingly welcomed him to the star-studded club as seen below.
Mackenzie Mitchell is well-loved by her colleagues in the WWE, as evidenced by the messages she has received since her release. It will be interesting to see if he gets another chance as an interviewer in the world of professional wrestling in the future.
Triple H comments on Jade Cargill’s future in WWE
Jade Cargill made her promotional debut during the WWE Fastlane Kickoff Show in October.
Speaking at the post-Survivor Series press conference last Saturday night, Triple H commented on Cargill’s future. She noted that before appearing regularly on WWE television, she wants to make sure she’s ready for whatever comes her way.
“When she came in, we talked about her development and where she would land. I want to make sure that whatever they throw at Jade Cargill, she’s ready. It’s not her fault, I think she’s limited by it, right? So, the idea is, We exposed her, we got her seen… People understand, they’re waiting, they’re excited for her to come, and when she comes, it’s going to be huge,” Triple H said.
