Castilla-La Mancha, along with Extremadura, the Basque Country and Madrid, has been selected to be part of the Monitoring Committee of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021-2027.

The Minister of Education, Culture and Sports, Rosa Ana Rodriguez, has celebrated this decision, which he learned during the meeting of the Council for Scientific, Technological and Innovation Policy, which brings together the Ministry with the autonomous communities, held this Thursday.

Rodriguez, after a press conference this Friday, has detailed that the inclusion of the region in this strategy is due to the fact that, together with Extremadura, they have been “The autonomies that led in 2019 the growth of internal investment in R&D, in relation to their GDP”.

Thus, it has stated that, specifically, the autonomy with the highest growth rate in this R&D expenditure was Castilla-La Mancha, “which it increased its investment in research spending by 15.5% “.

“Recognition” to the Government

The Monitoring Committee of the Spanish Strategy for Science, Technology and Innovation 2021-2027 is the basic instrument to consolidate and reinforce the science, technology and innovation system in the next seven years.
