Casa de las Ciencias celebrates World Space Week with the opening of the exhibition “Mars, the Conquest of the Dream”, educational and story-telling workshops



Casa de las Ciencias will celebrate World Space Week October 4-9 with the opening of the exhibition ‘Mars, Conquest of the Dream’, which will be complete with guided tours, storytelling and informational workshops for all audiences, according to the culture consultant Carmen Urquia reported this morning.

On the occasion of World Space Week, which takes place this year from October 4 to 9 under the theme “Space and Sustainability”, “House of Science will present an extensive program of activities to advance knowledge of space from a prominent media perspective.”

This celebration, as he advanced, “has its preamble on October 1 with the International Lunar Observation Day, which is why this Saturday, the House of Science organized, starting at 8:00 pm, an astronomical display of observation from its balcony.”

To celebrate World Space Week, Carmen Urquia announced, “On Tuesday 4 October, we will open the exhibition “Mars, Conquest of the Dream” at Casa de las Ciencias to bring visitors closer to the Red Planet. On the same day, at 7:30 pm, the theatrical performance Mami Supernova will be presented In the Municipal Auditorium of Logroño City Council, admission will be free until full capacity.

The program of the week will be completed with workshops for children and adults which will be presented at 12:00 noon on Saturdays and Sundays in October. Among them: “Luna lunera” workshop on Saturday 1 October for schoolchildren from 6 to 8 years old; – Moon Faces, Sunday 2, for girls and boys from 9 to 12 years old; “Gravity Is Not Dangerous,” Saturday 8, for 6 to 8 year old schoolchildren; On Sunday, October 9, at 12:00 p.m., the story “Fiesta del Universo” will be presented, recommended for audiences aged 5-8. It will seat 45 people and admission will be free, until full capacity is reached.

On Saturday the 15th, “The Solar System” and “Dazzling” will be presented, on Sunday the 16th, “We explore Mars”; On Saturday 29th the family did storytelling “Ulysses, Mouse on the Moon” and a “Let’s Play with Astronomy” workshop and on Sunday 30 “Astronomy for All”. All for children and families.

Carmen Urcia highlighted that during the fall, Casa de las Ciencias will organize guided visits on Saturdays and Sundays to the exhibition “Mars, Opening a Dream”.

Registration for workshops and guided tours takes place through the website: inscribcionescasadelasciencias.es the day before the activity (Friday from 9:30 am and Saturday from 11:00 am). If there are free places, they are allocated in the order of access to the activity.
