Barcelona signed Lewandowski for three seasons

Barcelona and Bayern Munich have reached a transfer agreement Robert LewandowskiConfirmed by sources ESPN.

The final contract for the Polish forward is 45 million euros, with 5 million euros in possible variables.

Lewandowski will be announced as a new Barca player at the weekend and, according to sources, could join Barca on their tour of the US starting next week in a friendly against Inter Miami.

He is Barcelona’s fifth ever two-time Golden Shoe signing after Pablo Torre, Frank Kessey, Andreas Christensen and Rafinha Aguirre.

Barca have made Lewandowski one of their top targets this summer, with manager Xavi Hernandez keen to add more energy to his side ahead of the new campaign.

Lewandowski, for his part, has made it clear in a series of public interviews that he is ready to leave Bayern after eight seasons with the German champions.

The striker has spoken of his desire to take on a new challenge to face the final years of his career. He turns 34 in August.

Even though Lewandowski only has a year left on his contract, Barca could not bring Bayern to the negotiating table earlier as the Bundesliga side played hard.

ESPN Barca submitted a third offer at the end of June, worth an additional €40 million, but there was no response from Bayern.

However, there was a breakthrough in negotiations this week, with both clubs agreeing a figure.

Lewandowski, named FIFA Men’s Player of the Year in each of the past two years, has scored 344 goals in 375 games in his eight campaigns with Bayern.

Before that, he scored 103 goals in 187 games for Borussia Dortmund, Znicz Pruszkow, Legia Warsaw and Delta Warsaw before joining Leg Poznań in 2010.
