Barbie and Ken explore the “real world” and life with flat feet in a new trailer

(CNN) It’s just Barbie… in the real world?

He New trailer From the Greta Gerwig-directed “Barbie,” out this Thursday, May 25, it offers the first full look at Barbie (Margot Robbie) and Ken (Ryan Gosling) as they explore the “real world” from Barbie Land. Today is the “best day ever!”

“Something related has happened,” Barbie told her friends, adding that she experienced a “cold shower” and fell off the roof instead of floating normally.

As Barbie tries to solve this problem, her first stop is to see a “weird Barbie” played by Kate McKinnon, who tells her that she needs to go to the “real world”.

“You can either go back to your normal life, or you can learn the truth about the universe,” says Rare Barbie, making Barbie choose between the pink-heeled path and the human Birkenstock path.

Barbie’s journey begins with Ken in the real world. “Barbie in the real world? That’s impossible,” says a man named Gloria, played by America Ferrera.

Clips of Barbie’s travels around the world are shown while Cass Elliott’s “Make Your Own Kind of Music” plays in the background. We see Barbie get arrested, Ken tries to perform an appendectomy on a man, and Barbie runs from the villainous Mattel CEO played by Will Farrell, who tries to put her “back in a box.”

It was also announced this Thursday that artists featured on the film’s soundtrack include Dua Lipa, Lizo, Haim, Dame Impala, Nicki Minaj, Carole G and one of the film’s stars, Ryan Gosling. Trailer. Producer and DJ Mark Ronson is the soundtrack’s executive producer.

“Barbie” hits theaters on July 21.
