Arequipa: various institutions participate in the exhibition “Peru with Science” | News

Nearly 50 scientific research entities, including universities and research centers, are participating in the “Peru with Science” exhibition, which is being held at the Cerro Joli Convention Center in Arequipa.

At the opening ceremony, Concytec President Benjamin Martikorina highlighted the importance of exposing science to all citizens to form a scientific and technological culture in the population.

In this regard, Martikorina noted that the “Peru with Science” exhibition is a meeting between various actors of the national science, technology and innovation system. “But it has a special spirit. It is an exhibition that aims to showcase science to everyone: boys and girls, young people and families, and not necessarily to those who will become scientists.

In this sense, he thanked the Regional Government of Arequipa and the Regional Municipality of Ciudad Blanca for their interest in promoting this type of activity. “Science should be in everyone’s hands and knowledge. That’s why these exhibitions, dating back 37 years, are here. Now we can remember them and pass them on to everyone,” he noted.

For his part, the Regional Governor of Arequipa, Rohil Sánchez Sánchez, reported that during his administration the Regional Science, Technology and Innovation Administration was formed to improve the dissemination and transfer of knowledge to the population, as well as to promote the development of research, innovation and technology being cultivated from Arequipa’s important universities.
