The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum has unveiled a new collection of officially licensed graduation-themed bobbleheads featuring mascots from the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, as demand for collegiate memorabilia and fan merchandise continues to grow across the United States.

The limited-edition collectibles form part of the organisation’s newly launched Graduation Bobblehead Series and have been timed to coincide with the conclusion of the universities’ Spring 2026 commencement ceremonies.

Produced by the Milwaukee-based National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum, the figures depict the Oklahoma Sooners mascot Boomer and Oklahoma State Cowboys mascot Pistol Pete standing on graduation caps branded with each university’s name. The mascots are shown holding diplomas while dressed in graduation gowns and caps.

The organisation said each bobblehead has been individually numbered to 1,890, reflecting the founding year shared by both universities. The products are priced at $40 each, with a flat-rate shipping charge of $8 per order. Shipments are expected to begin in November.

The latest release highlights the continuing commercial strength of licensed university merchandise, particularly around milestone events such as graduations and sporting achievements. Collectible memorabilia linked to college athletics has become an increasingly important segment within the broader sports retail market, driven by alumni engagement and fan loyalty.

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum is an official licensee of both the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University, enabling it to produce and distribute branded merchandise tied to the institutions and their mascots.

Founded in 1890 as Norman Territorial University, the University of Oklahoma has developed into one of the state’s largest higher education institutions, with total enrolment exceeding 25,000 students. The university currently offers 174 baccalaureate programmes, 199 master’s programmes, 101 doctoral programmes and 88 certificate programmes.

Operating 13 main colleges on its Norman campus, the institution is recognised for its meteorology and petroleum engineering departments, alongside its business school. The university held its Spring 2026 commencement ceremonies between 12 May and 17 May.

Oklahoma State University, which was established in 1890 under Morrill Act legislation, was originally known as Oklahoma Agricultural and Mechanical College. Its Stillwater campus serves as the flagship institution of the Oklahoma State University System, which collectively enrols more than 34,000 students across five institutions.

The Stillwater campus alone has a student population of nearly 27,000 and is widely recognised for programmes in agriculture, engineering and business studies. Undergraduate commencement ceremonies for Spring 2026 took place on 8 and 9 May at Gallagher-Iba Arena, while graduate ceremonies were held at Boone Pickens Stadium and Gallagher-Iba Arena.

The bobblehead series has been positioned as a commemorative product aimed at recent graduates and university supporters seeking to mark the completion of their studies with branded keepsakes.

“We’re excited to unveil the College Graduation Bobblehead Series featuring Boomer and Pistol Pete,” National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum co-founder and CEO Phil Sklar said. “These will be perfect bobbleheads for graduates of the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University to show off their school pride!”

The National Bobblehead Hall of Fame and Museum opened to the public in February 2019 and is headquartered on South 1st Street in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In addition to operating as a museum dedicated to bobblehead history and memorabilia, the organisation also produces customised bobbleheads for retail customers, sports teams, organisations and private individuals across the country.

The launch of the graduation-themed collection reflects a wider trend in the licensed merchandise industry, where niche commemorative products tied to educational institutions and sporting culture continue to attract collectors and alumni audiences.
