The game was tied 1-1 at 90 minutes and goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau was a man up in the shootout, saving two penalties.

In 13 minutes, Jakob Schaffelburg sealed good play from Jonathan David on the right, and a hook in and a precise pass made it 1-0 to his teammate.

With the advantage, the North American team found several scoring options and came close to extending the advantage, but failed several times in the penalty and paid dearly for it.

As the minutes passed, Venezuela steadily progressed, but without creating any real danger for the tie, although its search left dangerous spaces in its defence.

In a hurry, Vinodindo was very active and created scoring chances in a match that was thwarted by the need of one and the lack of strength of the other.

In 64 minutes, Solomon Rondon He took advantage of incredible carelessness from the Canadian defence, which despite having the advantage went looking for a corner and left only one defender to cover the scorer.

The ball is denied by the Vinodindo defense and it is left for 23, who wins with his body. He found goalkeeper Maxime Crépeau in front of him and fired a shot from approximately 35 meters to make it 1-1.

After the draw the match continued back and forth with both options to score. At 80, Canada had a clear chance against the goalkeeper for Danny Oluwasei, but it went over.

Minutes later, Rondon was singled out for a second time, but he missed a one-on-one shot against the goalkeeper.

Between nerves and incompetence, everything ended even in regulation time and the definition went to 12 steps.

For Venezuela, Salomon Rondon, Tomás Rincón and Jonder Gadís scored, while Yankel Herrera (second) had his shot deflected and Jeferson Savarino (fourth) and Wilker Angel (sixth) were blocked by Crabio.

Jonathan David, Moise Pompidou, Alfonso Davies and Ismail Kone scored for Canada, while Liam Miller (second) deflected his shot over and Rafael Romo saved Eustace's penalty (fourth).

The Canadians' semi-final against Argentina is next Tuesday, July 9 at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.
