WhatsApp has functions that some users are familiar with, one of which is a tool that allows them to see the number of messages they have sent to their contacts, manage their time using the device and generally understand the activity in the application.

This tool, while not new, is less well-known and helps users measure their interactions with the site. Many of them spend time working and talking with family or friends.

Both iOS and Android device users can access this feature. However, the process is very different on each device:

  1. Open WhatsApp on your iPhone device.
  2. Go to the “Settings” section of the app.
  3. Under the “Storage and Data” category, select “Data Usage”.
  4. In “Data usage”, you can see detailed information about the number of messages you have sent and received on WhatsApp and other relevant data such as bytes sent and received and incoming and outgoing calls.

  • For Android devices:
  1. Open WhatsApp on your Android device.
  2. Tap the three dots located at the top right corner of the screen.
  3. Select the “Settings” option from the drop-down menu.
  4. In “Settings”, look for the “Storage and data” category and select “Data usage”.
  5. Here you can view your message statistics, including the number of messages sent and received, and other relevant data such as the total size of files sent and received.

Once you have access to your messaging statistics on WhatsApp, it's time to interpret the data and understand what it reveals about your messaging activity. It should be noted that the difference between sent and received messages varies depending on several factorsSuch as frequency of use, the number of groups and chats you participate in, and the nature of your conversations.

In some tests carried out, it was observed that the messages received could be four times or even more than the messages sent. This may be due to participating in groups with high message volume or receiving broadcast messages.

Along with the number of messages, it is important to consider other data provided by WhatsApp, such as the total size of files sent and received and the total time spent using the application.

This data provides a holistic view of your app activity and helps you make informed decisions about your time and communication habits.

WhatsApp has a tool called WhatsApp Proxy. A feature designed to allow users to access services when there is no internet connection.

As a start, The application recommends users to look for reliable sources that have created a proxy on social networks or search engines. To activate it, follow these steps:

  • Go to 'Settings' and then 'Storage & Data'.
  • Select 'Proxy'.
  • Tap on 'Set Proxy' and enter your address.
  • Select 'Save'. If the connection is successfully established, a green check mark will be displayed.

If the user is still unable to send or receive WhatsApp messages through the proxy, the latter may be blocked. To delete an address, tap and hold it. Then, enter the address of another proxy and try again.

It should be added that the use of a proxy does not affect the level of privacy and security that WhatsApp offers to all users.
