Astronaut Sarah Garcia brings her passion for science to hundreds of students

The first woman chosen by the European Space Agency to be an astronaut, Sarah Garcia, visited the city of Almendralejo, where she participated this morning in an event at the Carolina Coronado Theater on the occasion of the “Women and Science” competition that is launched every year. The mayor of Almendralejo, José María Ramírez, received the biologist along with the Minister of Education, Mercedes Vaquera, who expressed her gratitude for transmitting her “interest and enthusiasm” to the young people. In addition, she highlighted her CV and role as a cancer researcher, adding that she is “an example of women who have broken barriers.” Representatives of municipalities, the Government of Extremadura and the Extremadura Assembly itself also attended the meeting organized by the Committee of Permanent Representatives.
