Andreea Anastasiu, a student at “Alexandru cel Bun” Gura Humorului University, recently qualified for a prestigious international science and technology competition taking place in Tunisia. This is the International Festival of Engineering Science and Technology in Tunisia (I-FESTTunisia), organized by the Tunisian Association for the Future of Science and Technology. Andreea is an 11th grade student in the Mathematics-Informatics profile and is passionate about robotics, being a member of the Robotics Club of the humor school.

She participated in numerous competitions of this type, alone or with the GRASP team of this club. Andreea Anastasiua participated in the ROSEF contest, organized by the “Ștefan cel Mare” University of Suceava (USV) and the Cygnus Association, in November 2020, with a semi-autonomous robot that can help both farmers and meteorologists. As Andreea told us, the robot measures certain parameters, such as temperature, pressure or atmospheric gases that can have a greenhouse effect.

The student from Gura Humorului obtained third place with this project, which was later re-evaluated by a commission that proposed her to participate in I-FEST Tunisia.

“The moment I discovered my greatest passion, robotics, was in eighth grade at a club in this field, at a university in our county. Since then, my room has become a space full of cables, screws, sensors and of course robots, which cannot wait to help the world in the future, ”says the young woman.

Andreea Anastasiu also won other awards individually or together with the robotics team: 1st place in the Competition organized by the Romanian Science Festival – “The future to your liking”; Third place in the National Competition organized by Rotary Romania – “Da Vinci Competition”; First places in the “Marian Dacian Bica” Astronomy and Astrophysics Contest.
