Tina Turner, ‘Queen of Rock and Roll,’ Dies at 83 – NBC Los Angeles

Tina Turner, the American singer who led a tumultuous musical career filled with hits like “What’s Love Got to Do With It,” has died at the age of 83, her rep confirmed Wednesday.

Turner died Tuesday at his home in Kuznacht, near Zurich, Switzerland, after a long illness, his spokesman said. He acquired Swiss citizenship a decade ago.

Turner renounced his US citizenship

Turner immigrated to Switzerland in 1995 with her husband, German music producer Erwin Bach, and in 2013 she renounced her US citizenship and adopted her country of residence.

The same year he became a Swiss citizen, Turner suffered a stroke, and three years later was diagnosed with cancer.

His woes were compounded by the deaths of two of his four children, Craig in 2018 and Ronnie in 2022.

Turner will have a private funeral with his family and close friends.
