CentralA restaurant run by Peruvian chefs Virgil Martinez Y Pia LeoneVoted second best restaurant in the world 50 Best Restaurants in the World. The prestigious rankings were released this afternoon.

A gala that brings together the world’s best chefs, Held at Old Billingsgate, London today, Monday.

Located in Lima, Central manages to climb two positions in the rankings. Last year he was ranked fourth in the world. It was also voted the best restaurant in South America in 2021.

Danish restaurant Geranium named best restaurant in the world. Enjoying (Barcelona) finished third, DiverXO fourth and Pujol (Mexico City) fifth.

Most people in the rankings

The gala also brought other great news to Peruvian gastronomy. Chef Mitsuharu Sumura’s maido took 11th place.

Also, Maida Restaurant, owned by the legendary Jaime Bessac, is ranked 32nd on the list. Earlier, it was included in the prestigious list of 50 Best Ladams.

50 Best Restaurants in the World, The list, prepared by gastronomic experts from around the world, celebrates its twentieth anniversary in London, its headquarters from 2003 to 2015 traveled to New York, Melbourne (Australia), Bilbao (Spain) and Singapore and during the pandemic interval.
