he Women’s Space is an area created and dedicated to feminist women within the only public university in the state of Puebla.It was this idea that prompted Beatriz Hernández Becerra to create a documentary, and today the 9-minute project is participating in the Mexico City International Documentary Film Festival (Docs Mx).

In 2023, Doc Mx will celebrate its 18th anniversary, and in the current edition, it has received 859 videos, both short films and feature films from 96 countries, but 50 percent of them were national. Hence the importance of having a small documentary about the work of students at the University of Puebla. This story was entered into the “Documents Challenge,” which involves making a short documentary in just 100 hours.

The documentary is directed by Beatriz Hernandez Becerra, who teaches at the Benemrita Autonomous University of Puebla (BUAP). Produced by Fabrizio Gonzalez Gomez and Brandon Plascencia, while photography was done by Alfonso Sanchez Martinez and Daniel Hernandez Ramirez. Editing is by Brandon Plasencia Valencia and sound design by Brandon Lozano.

The idea is to highlight that a women’s space has been created and allocated for women within the university, where they are supported, They receive lessons or advice from different areas and find a safe place for their well-being.
