Thousands of devotees continue to throng the basilica, which has been open since dawn

As usual, lakhs of devotees eagerly await the arrival December 12 Pay tribute Virgin of GuadalupeAn event that brings the Mexican community together in a celebration full of tradition, faith and excitement.

Priests, altar boys and the rector of the basilica stood in front of the altar and sang “La Mananitas”, accompanied by thousands of pilgrims and a mariachi.

Minutes before the “Mananitas” began, hundreds of thousands of parishioners crowded the fences inside the church to get a better view of the altar and where the performers would pay homage to the Virgin.

Faithful believers come from all over Latin America to pay homage to the Virgin, and on this occasion it is the turn of a famous singer from Peru.

A group of mariachis has arrived to dedicate a song to “Morenita del Tepeyac”, and a festive atmosphere is already felt among the participants an hour before the expected start of “Mañanitas a La Virgen”.

He performs as his special theme the community representing Isla Mujeres, Yucatan and Tabasco. “We love you mom.” At the same time, various pilgrims who have already managed to enter the basilica continue to pass before the Virgin.

Along the Way of the Mysteries, dozens of people distribute food to pilgrims arriving on the esplanade of the Basilica of Guadalupe. Hundreds of people continue to enter the temple entrance carrying images of the Virgin. All responded in unison to the chants inside: “Hail the Virgin of Guadalupe.”

As part of the musical numbers, there was an emotional moment when the deaf Catholic community sang the song in sign language. Ave MariaHe also sang part of it in Nahuatl.
