In overtime performance On March 29 against the New York Knicks, Wembaniama scored 40 points and 20 rebounds. In the highest scoring game of the season.

As blocks became an official statistic, Hakeem Olajuwon and Anthony Davis were the only other players to have a 40-point, 20-rebound game, 5-on-5 game and 10-block game.

Despite all of Wembayama's accomplishments, San Antonio finished with the same record as a season ago (22-60) and needed seven wins in its final 11 games to get there.

While Spurs are still a young team and nobody thinks their record won't improve, Vembanyama takes a long-term view.

“I don't think at any point I'm not in the best situation. I'm not in the best place,” Wembaniama said on the final day of the season. “Obviously, I'd like us to be in the playoffs, and of course I'd like us to go 60 games without a loss.

“But as tough as it was today, I know it's long-term. I believe in my teammates 100 percent and I believe in the program. So, really, my faith … hasn't wavered at any point.”
