The Diputación de León, through the Youth Service led by Deputy Susana Folla, launches for the first time the program ‚dipuleon_espaciojoven_2021 ‘, which aims to activate municipal youth spaces in the province of León. This weekend activities have begun in the 14 municipalities that have benefited from this new line of aid.

The cost derived from the program of activities will be fully assumed by the Diputación de León. The recipients are young people residing in the environment of the selected municipalities, who will be able to participate free of charge in the activities once they are registered as users on the Youth Service website (https://juventudleon.com/). The deadline to register was opened this week and there are already registered to participate in the 14 youth spaces enabled in the different venues provided by the participating municipalities.

In this way, it seeks to offer a great variety of proposals to young residents in rural areas, preferably between 12 and 22 years old, with an offer and quality comparable to urban ones, energizing the space, center, house of culture, etc. that the municipalities allocate to this program.

The ‚dipuleon_espacio_joven ‘program includes four large thematic blocks of activities, plus a section of youth animations that will take place on time (artistic, cultural, scientific…). These four blocks are adventure and open air (compass orientation, GPS, routes, laser tag, paintball, airsoft, bow, ropes…); technology, drones, robotics and ICTs (drones, robotics, videos, RRSS and apps); group games, escape, alternative games, etc. (Room & Street escape, board games, alternative games …), and art and creativity (jam session, rap and poetry, urban dance, graffiti, henna, slime, recycling: bracelets, mobile holders , creative cuisine…).

It is a program designed by the Youth Service of the Provincial Council in coordination with the two winning companies that will execute it in the different spaces in a flexible way and adapted to the tastes and interests of the participants.

The objective of these actions is to reinforce group activities and games in rural areas, favoring personal development and the identity of young people with the group and their roots in the territory, taking into account a flexible methodology that allows the adaptation of the program of activities and workshops to the particularities of each participating municipality. Likewise, it is intended to create and maintain a youth space in each of the participating municipalities, formal or informal, that allows the youth of the municipality to have a place of meeting and socialization, with stable activities carried out weekly, but that also allows improvisation and the initiative of the young people themselves. For this reason, the programming of periodic weekly activities takes on special relevance, but that can be modified, within the four established thematic blocks, in order to also be able to adapt to the particularities of the various municipalities.
