The priest, Ibrahim Gomez, who was in charge of the San Gabriel Archangel Church, the main church in the capital of the municipality of Pedro Jaraza, is currently being investigated by the Catholic Church for the crime, according to the protocol.

In this sense, Monsignor Ramon José Aponte Fernández, Bishop of Valle de la Pascua Diocese, as reported by Últimas Noticias, indicated that he is carrying out the relevant investigations to verify whether the complaint is true or not.

“Confronted with any such complaint, the Church, with a single complaint, says: 'Well, the condemned priest must be removed from the place where he is, from the place where this thing is said to have happened.' That is what has been done: Father Ibrahim has been removed from his pastoral duties in the parish,” he said.

Likewise, Abante Fernandez explained that the decision was made to remove the concerned father from his job to facilitate investigations against him.

“If we say now that the father is guilty, we are lying; To say now that the father is innocent, we would be lying; “We're in the process of that investigation, just in time for Christmas, wait,” he pointed out.
