The US Embassy has granted travel authorization to Cubans

The U.S. Embassy in Havana has issued a message of interest to Cubans regarding authorization to travel to the country under this program. Humanitarian parole.

“If you are unable to travel within 90 days of the validity of your travel authorization for reasons beyond your control, the sponsor must submit a “Single Petition” to USCIS for a 90-day travel authorization extension.” In a note issued through their official channels.

Likewise, “Submitted sponsors only Form I-134A A “one-time extension” of a previously approved travel authorization may be requested on behalf of a beneficiary or their immediate family members.”

“Beneficiaries cannot request travel extension on their own,” they warn.

According to the information provided, “USCIS will evaluate the sponsor’s request to extend the travel authorization and forward the request along with the beneficiary’s information to CBP for further investigation.”

If CBP approves the request, “beneficiaries will receive an email notification when a travel authorization extension notice is posted to their account.”

Note that for privacy reasons, “only beneficiaries can view the travel authorization extension notice in their USCIS online account.”

From the Immigration and Naturalization Service they reiterate: “If the beneficiary’s original travel authorization expires 30 days before or after the extension request, or if the beneficiary is unable to travel to the United States during the 90-day extension, the sponsor must submit a new Form 1-134A in the beneficiary’s name to obtain a new travel authorization.

According to reported The U.S. Embassy in Havana recently reported that “about 23,000 Cubans, Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans came to the United States through humanitarian parole procedures announced in January 2023.”
