The United States lifted sanctions and Venezuela issued baseball licenses

The Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has issued the respective licenses for the equipment. Venezuelan Professional Baseball League (LVBP) It allows for the use of players and staff affiliated with the Major League Baseball system. The teams that will benefit from this move are Los Navegantes del Magalens (reigning champions) and Los Tigres de Aragua. This is great news for fans and fans of these clubs.

It is well known that for some years the United States has imposed certain restrictions on personalities from political and social life in Venezuela, and for this reason, any negotiations with any American organization (like MLB for example) will be severely affected. Venezuelan companies (Tigres de Aragua and Navegantes del Magallanes), whose directors include representatives of the regional governments of Aragua and Carabobo, respectively. Because of that, neither the Bengals nor the Navigators had access to MLB-related personnel.

What is an OFAC license? Technically this is a permit or authorization from the US Office of Foreign Assets Control so that they can establish relationships (in a certain way) with companies from a North American country, in this case it allows LVBP to coordinate business relationships with clubs. Employees affiliated with MLB.

The Venezuelan Professional Baseball League is pleased to announce to the public that the Tigres de Aragua and Navegantes del Magalens teams have received a license from the US Government’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).
