Reuters was able to confirm the location of the video based on the green-roof structure, buildings seen in the distance and the bridge seen in the video.
Exclusive sites such as FlightRadar24 and Flight Aware showed that Jeju Airlines Flight 1408 attempted to land near Fukuoka Airport at 2304 GMT before taking off again a minute later.
Fukuoka Prefecture lies north of the Japanese island of Kyushu, where Typhoon Shanshan made landfall on Thursday, bringing strong winds and heavy rain.
