“No evidenceHe told the news agency that Venezuela's electoral system was the target of a cyber attack during the July 28 elections. AFP Jenny LincolnHead of Monitoring Mission Carter CenterThat It was in line with the opposition's predictions of victory.

The Carter Center was invited by the Council on National Elections (CNE) to monitor the elections in question. Nicolás Maduro He was re-elected for a third six-year term.

The CNE has not released detailed results and blames the delay on a hack, while Maduro denounces a “cyberfascist conspiracy.”

“Organizations monitor and know when there are denials of service (jackets), and there were none that night” Lincoln explained this Wednesday in an interview from Atlanta, USA. “Transmission of polling data is done by telephone line and satellite phone and not by computer. They don't lose data”.

Lincoln recalled, president of the CNE, Elvis Amoroso“I will publish the result table table wise on the website and give the CD to the political parties,” he announced the first announcement.

“It was a promise that was never fulfilled“, pointed out the consultant of the Organization for Latin America and the Caribbean.

“Even though the playing field was very uneven, Venezuelans went to the polls“, he continued, referring to the elections. “The biggest malpractice on Election Day was the lack of transparency of the CNE and its apparent failure to play by the rules of the game to show the real votes of the people.”

Carter Center, Lincoln explained, “Analyzed the numbersAvailable in collaboration with other institutions and universities and “Edmundo Gonzalez confirmed Urrutia as the winner with more than 60%” Votes.

The opposition released copies of more than 80% of the minutes on a website, saying it proved the victory of González Urrutia, the representative of President María Corina Machado, with 67% of the vote. The CNE gave him 43% compared to 52% for Maduro.

Chavismo denies the validity of these documents and asserts that they are forged.

“It was pure theatre“, began Lincoln, who did not want to comment on CNE officials or contacts with the regime because the Carter Center assessed in a public statement that the election “does not conform to international parameters and standards of electoral integrity” and “cannot be considered democratic.”

The report was issued when the monitoring mission was already out of the country.

Maduro, in power since 2013, asked the Supreme Court (TSJ).Certificate“Election, and said he was ready to provide 100% minutes if requested.

“11, 12 days for the government…too long to show the actual data of the minutes they got on election night.Lincoln pointed out.

The legal process is considered unacceptable by experts and the opposition, who distrust the TSJ and CNE because they consider them to be working for Chavismo. Amoroso says he submitted the hearing minutes to the court.

The election has been questioned by the United States, the European Union and several Latin American countries.

Countries promoting the Coexistence Agreement between Colombia, Brazil and Mexico have recommended “impartial verification of results”.

Lincoln believes it is premature to comment on the Carter Center's willingness to participate in this level of auditing. “I have no confidence and doubt what an international verification panel can do that the witnesses who produced the actual minutes of the night did not.”
