A Costa Rican chef who competes in a hot cooking competition earns Miss Universe recognition by making an exquisite Nagadamal.

The third season of Top Chef VIP 3 was produced and broadcast by Telemundo International in Miami, USA.

Miss Universe remembers her appearance

Shaneice Palacios, who was a special guest on Top Chef VIP Thursday night, praised the quality of Nagatamal made by Costa Rican Gary Centeno.

“I want to stand up and give him a round of applause. You don't know how much this food means to me, because it reminded me of my Nicaragua when I sold Nagatamales with my family,” recalled Shaynice Palacios, with visible excitement.

Miss Universe 2023 said she discovered “the taste of the Nicaraguan people” in Nakatamal's system, then thanked and congratulated the Costa Rican chef on behalf of Nicaragua and Central Americans for the quality of her culinary art.

“Thank you for giving me my country through this Nagadamal,” said Miss Universe 2023, overcome with emotion.

An unforgettable night

Carrie Centeno, ecstatically embraced by the universal beauty, said that the appreciation and warmth of Shaynice Palacios was “more valuable than anything, more valuable than any salvation.”

Gary Centeno avoided elimination from Thursday night's competition due to the quality of the typical Nicaraguan food he prepared while referring to “what salvation.”
