SANTO DOMINGO — Fernando Tadis will not continue this season with the Eastern Stars, the top seed in the Dominican baseball round-robin semifinals.
This was reported by Green Group social network X earlier on their Twitter account.
The Stars lead the semifinals with a 10-5 record with just three games remaining. This Monday is a holiday.
“Our star Fernando Tadis Jr. will not continue in the current season. The service time allowed by the San Diego Padres organization completed his contract in organized baseball. We appreciate your dedication and best efforts,” read the message posted a few minutes before 6 p.m.
Tatis has played 13 games in this round-robin semi-final. He exits this stretch with a .222 average, four RBIs and one home run. He struck out 10 in 45 at-bats.
