So goes the battle for the singer’s training

(CNN) – The legal battle for the protection of Britney Spears’ garden continued in court on Thursday.

Although not a pop star, Los Angeles County High Court Judge Brenda Penny Spears and her father Jamie Spears were on a virtual visit when they heard arguments from their lawyers.

At trial the Bessemer Foundation was appointed in November to act as co-custodian with his father on Spears’ estate. Judge Penny ruled in favor of maintaining the co-training and made no changes to the procedures on Thursday.

Spears had previously demanded the removal of his father as co-defender. The recent ruling did not prevent his lawyer, Samuel Ingham III, from filing another petition to remove him.

Ingham, who was almost present at the hearing, reiterated that his client “does not want his father to be a co-defendant and we feel that removal is a separate issue.”

Vivian L., lawyer for Jamie Spears. Thorine aired Thursday night on CNN.

Today’s Probate Court judgments show the court’s confidence in our client Jamie Spears and the Bessemer Trust to jointly manage the security of Ms Spears ’estate. My client is looking forward to working with Bessemer to pursue an investment strategy for the betterment of his daughter, ”Thorin’s statement read in part.

Spears Sr. was first appointed by the court as the custodian of his daughter’s estate, along with attorney Andrew Wallet, in 2008 after a series of personal issues with the singer were made public. During that time, he also monitored his health and medical results. Following Wallet’s resignation in 2019, Jamie Spears became the sole custodian of the singer’s $ 60 million estate.

“I love my daughter, I miss her so much,” Spears said of her daughter. “When a family member needs special care and protection, families must move forward as I have for the past 12 years or more to unconditionally protect, preserve, and love Britney. .

Interest in the singer’s bodyguard has increased since The New York Times documentary “Framing Britney Spears”. Celebrities and supporters argued for Spears on social media with the hashtag #FreeBritney.

Another hearing in the case is set for March 17.
