Samsung has released its August 2023 update for the Galaxy S23 series, which is currently rolling out Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23 Plus And Galaxy S23 Ultra. According to reports, the new update has first landed in Southeast Asian countries like Indonesia, Malaysia and Thailand. However, it will take a few days before Samsung rolls out equivalent updates in other markets.

According to Samsung’s changelog, it only updated the trio to security patch 2023-08-01. It should be noted that Google recently started updating its devices on 2023-08-05 which addresses more security flaws than on 2023-08-01. Also, while Samsung didn’t explain what changes the new security patch introduces, you can find all the details in the latest security bulletin from Google. https://source.android.com/docs/security/bulletin/2023-08-01?hl=ta.

For whatever reason, Samsung’s update package is relatively large despite the lack of significant changes. For example, the equivalent update from Google is less than 50MB. In comparison, the August 2023 update for the Galaxy S23 series is over 1.3GB, which is 3 times larger than last month’s update.

The update to AWGJ also introduces new versions of the Camera Gallery and One UI home apps, though Samsung didn’t detail what changes it introduced in this regard. Samsung is expected to bring One UI 5.1.1 to the Galaxy S23 series which was launched last month. Galaxy Z Flip5 And Galaxy Z Fold5. Samsung Germany has leaked details of the Android 14-based update, and the first One UI 6 beta will be out any day soon. Earlier this week.
