The Republican Attorneys General Association is set to host a press conference in Washington, DC during National Police Week, bringing together several Republican state attorneys general to discuss collaboration with law enforcement agencies across the United States.

The event, scheduled for Wednesday, May 13, will take place at the National Press Club and is expected to draw national media attention amid ongoing discussions surrounding public safety, policing policy, and state-level legal enforcement initiatives.

According to the advisory issued by the organisation, the press conference is intended to “highlight the successful partnership between Republican AGs and law enforcement.” The gathering forms part of wider activities taking place during National Police Week, an annual observance recognising the service and sacrifice of law enforcement officers across the country.

The event is due to begin at 2:00 p.m. EST, with accredited media representatives permitted to arrive from 1:30 p.m. onwards. Journalists wishing to attend in person have been instructed to RSVP in advance in order to gain access to the venue.

A number of prominent Republican attorneys general are expected to participate in the press conference, although organisers noted that the list remains tentative and subject to change.

Among those expected to attend are Brenna Bird, Attorney General of Iowa; Catherine Hanaway of Missouri; Kris Kobach, Attorney General of Kansas; and J. B. McCuskey, Attorney General of West Virginia.

The Republican Attorneys General Association has become an influential political and legal organisation within the United States, supporting Republican attorneys general and coordinating policy initiatives on issues including crime, immigration, constitutional law, and state litigation matters. Public safety and law enforcement cooperation have remained central themes for many Republican-led state legal offices in recent years.

National Police Week has historically served as a platform for elected officials, police organisations, and advocacy groups to discuss law enforcement policy and honour officers killed or injured in the line of duty. Events taking place during the week often include memorial ceremonies, policy forums, and public safety discussions attended by state and federal officials.

The upcoming press conference comes at a time when debates surrounding policing, criminal justice reform, and state-level enforcement powers continue to shape political discourse across the United States. Attorneys general have increasingly taken prominent roles in legal challenges, interstate investigations, and law enforcement coordination efforts on issues ranging from violent crime to border security and cybercrime.

While the advisory did not provide detailed policy topics expected to be discussed during the event, organisers indicated the conference would focus on the relationship between Republican attorneys general and law enforcement agencies. The event is likely to address broader themes of public safety strategy, prosecutorial coordination, and legal support for policing agencies.

The National Press Club, located in downtown Washington, regularly hosts political briefings, media events, and policy discussions involving lawmakers, advocacy organisations, and government officials. The venue has long been associated with high-profile press conferences and public affairs events in the US capital.

For those unable to attend in person, the event will also be broadcast online through the Republican Attorneys General Association’s YouTube channel, allowing remote viewers and media outlets to follow proceedings live.

The advisory further noted that media representatives seeking access to the event must submit their RSVP request by 10:00 a.m. EST on the day of the conference in order to secure entry credentials for the venue.
