Puerto Ricans Receive Prestigious Emmy Silver Circle Award – Metro Puerto Rico

The Suncoast Chapter of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences presented the prestigious Emmy Silver Circle Award to Los Noticias meteorologist Deborah Martoral, Noticentro meteorologist Ada Monzon and WIPR-PR journalist Myra Acevedo.

After the recognition given to Acevedo and Monzon by the Academy’s Board of Directors, Martoral wrote on his social networks that it was “a special night with many emotions.”

“Thank you, our viewers, for always being a source of inspiration and a driving force to keep going through tough times. It is a privilege to serve you through the magic of television,” said a TeleOnes spokesperson.

Likewise, Noticentro’s head of meteorology, Ada Monzon, expressed gratitude for the award and singled out her colleagues.

“We had an unforgettable night with our respective families and loved ones. Thank you, Puerto Rico!” Monzon said.

On his part, the WIPR-TV spokesperson noted, “Few people know that I started my career in television as a weather reporter on Channel 13 in English. So there is no coincidence, life is a circle, so a chapter ends with this silver circle award […]. This award is not for me but for all my fellow cinematographers, editors, producers, news directors, channel heads and mentors who have helped me and whose work I could not have done without.
