Popular Cuban actress Irela Bravo broke her silence about leaving the island in an interview for La Casa de Maca.

According to him, it was his 94-year-old mother who gave him the strength to decide after traveling to America a decade later.

“Since 2013 I have been coming here to America and they have always received me with great love and affection and I have always come back. But this time my mother told me: 'Daughter, you must close this cycle. You need a change, hope doesn't last long. You have to do things,” he admitted.

“That is why I am here today and have taken this step. And I'm going to be here for a long time,” he promised.

Bravo made it clear that life in Cuba is very difficult. “No one has a secret about the situation that Cuba is going through, it is important, everyone knows, and no one is spared from it,” he said.

The actress also explained how difficult it was to be separated from her mother. “I know she misses me in life, we talk on the phone all the time.”

“Mom, I'm going to please you and find a boyfriend like you said.”

Bravo, recognized for her role as Sachida in “Vivir del Cuento,” is already rehearsing for her new project in Miami.

The artist will be part of the comedy “Havana in Hialeah” broadcast on UniversitaTV, which will bring together the main Cuban comedians Omar Franco, Leonardo Sandisteban and Carlos “Billin” Marrero.
