Police arrived about 30 minutes after the attack at 1 p.m., because diners had trouble reporting the incident to 911. Although the attack took place at 3:40 p.m., there was no official report of the attack in the social communication section of the Secretariat of Public Security of the City of Tijuana. Seven hours after ZETA Weekly requested an official statement, the linking piece has yet to share its official version of the facts.

Chef Javier Placencia posted on his Twitter account the split between Mayor Montserrat Caballero and Governor Marina del Pilar Ávila Olmeda, the first time in its 35-year history that diners have been robbed at the restaurant on Sonora Avenue.

The case has already been sent to the State Attorney General’s Office (FGE), who will request images from private security cameras to profile the attackers.
