(CNN Spanish) –– The President of Mexico, Andrés Manuel López Obrador, announced this Sunday that he had signed a presidential decree on the constitutional reform of the Judiciary, which was published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).

Meanwhile, the Ministry of Interior announced in a statement that the decree had already been issued this Sunday, the same day that the last ceremony of the Freedom Cry will be held in the capital's main square led by López Obrador.

The decree published in the DOF adds and repeals various provisions of the political constitution of the United Mexican States regarding the reform of the judicial branch, a series of changes criticized by the opposition and various national and international organizations.
