Espacio Mediterráneo, a shopping and entertainment center owned by Westinvest, and operated by CBRE, anticipates World Energy Efficiency Day by promoting education and environmental awareness in various aspects of daily life. That is why, from 3 to 12 March, the awareness initiative launched “Move for Change”, a space dedicated to energy efficiency and the environment where you can have fun and learn about projects that are being carried out in our environment, as well as discover how electricity is generated in a different way. A giant gradient track will be connected to four bikes that, through their pedals, will provide movement to the cars, in this way children and adults will be able to discover that there are clean and fun ways to generate energy while respecting the environment.

The inauguration was held on Friday afternoon by the Cartagena Cycling Club.

The screen will reflect how much kW each participant generates. All the energy generated by these bikes will be converted into funds that will be donated to the Naturalists Association of the Southeast (ANSE), specifically for its project “La Cerceta Pardilla”, one of the seven species in critical situation in Spain. The goal is to improve the conservation status of more than 3,000 hectares of wetlands to reverse the risk of extinction. An exhibition will present all the information about this environmental work.

To train the little ones in correct environmental habits, educational workshops will be held on Saturday and Sunday in which they will help create a small garden with reused materials in a small space at home, used clothes will be transformed into shopping bags, in order to get rid of plastic from the house, flower pots will be made And the murals are made from recycled materials, which enhances children’s creativity.
