Lifelong roast chicken for winning Olympic gold medal

The “fried chicken pension” waiting for him at the home of South Korean speed skater Hwang Tae-hyun, who left Beijing with two Olympic medals, seemed excited.

For Hwang, who won gold in the 1,500m and silver in the 5,000m, Food President Eun Hong-kyun, the leader of the BBQ owner who led South Korea’s athletics, promised a lifetime of fried chicken. Work at the Winter Olympics.

“The first thing I want to do is make sure the fried chicken pension is genuine,” Hwang told reporters after returning home on Thursday. “We work hard, so we will retire before we get ready for the World Championships.”

Yoon, president of the South Korean Skaters Union, said in an Instagram post last week that he would be happy to offer BBQ chicken a lifetime to fried chicken activist Hwang if he wins gold in Beijing.

“He really came back with gold,” June wrote under a photo of herself posing with Hwang after the 1,500-meter final.

It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. BBQ officials did not respond to calls for comment.

On Friday, South Korea won two gold, four silver and one bronze medal in Beijing, all in skating competitions. Yoon promised cash prizes of $ 100 million ($ 83,600) for gold, $ 50 million for silver ($ 41,800) and $ 30 million ($ 25,100) for bronze.

South Korea has long associated Olympic events with national pride, and medalists receive a monthly living wage of $ 1 million ($ 830). Medal-winning male athletes are exempt from compulsory two-year military service for all physically fit men.
