Basic Education Winners, School of Champions of Chile, Limash, for the project “Tolerance of Vegetable Seeds to Low Temperatures”.

The Natural History Museum of Valparaíso and the Valparaíso Port Company, in collaboration with the National Museum of Natural History, the Alcobo School Incubator of the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, and the Valparaíso School of Sciences (ECIVAL) of the Faculty of Sciences of Valparaíso. Valparaíso University and the Territorio Valparaíso STEAM Network are pleased to announce the launch of the IX School Innovation, Science and Technology Competition.

The winning groups in each category will have the opportunity to receive the following prizes:

  • Certificate proving participation in the “National Youth Science Exhibition” at the National Museum of Natural History in Santiago. This prize includes accommodation and food during the event. It is important to keep in mind that the museum does not finance or manage the transportation of delegations from the region of origin to Santiago and vice versa.
  • The project was published in the form of a scientific note in the third youth scientific bulletin for the school competition for creativity, science and technology. This bulletin will be published in Volume 37 of the Annals of the Natural History Museum of Valparaíso.

We highlight as a motivational reference the success of the school project “Tolerance of vegetable seeds to low temperatures”, winner of last year’s National Science Fair, implemented by the School of Champions of Chile, in Limache, Valparaíso Region. This project, led by Anahi Sofía Carvajal Aranda and Joel Alexandre Guajardo Mella, addresses a critical challenge in food production and represents an inspiring example of how science and technology can address food challenges in extreme conditions.

We hope to have enthusiastic participation from all students and educational institutions in this new edition of the competition!
