Lack of space at the Monte Carlo Rally Service Park leaves 23 teams out of the field

Due to the many criticisms received by the ACM regarding the restriction of entries and the refusal to accept twenty riders, the organizers of the next Monte Carlo Rally published a press release on Monday, the day the list of entries was published.

In this press release, Monte Carlo Rally Director Eric Barabino points out that this limitation is due to a lack of space in the service yard.

“Our remote services recorded 112 registration files, 93 of which met the criteria set out in our specific regulations and unfortunately we had to suspend 23 of them. Having to reject participants as an organizer is not easy, believe us! I will not go into details about the real problem that the selection represents, but it was done. Many criteria are taken into account so that in the end about twenty regional pilots can compete against the international elite. Sure, we make some people happy, and unfortunately, others remain sad.

“Our greatest wish now is to eventually be able to find an area of more than 30,000 square meters to increase the capacity of the service area and thus allow us to accept all requests, whether from professionals or all amateurs…”
