The Defense Council of former lawyer Jean Alain Rodríguez assured the Special Prosecutor for the Investigation of Administrative Corruption (Pepca) that there is no legal argument to prolong his imprisonment and that in the context of this fact it uses illegal and absurd arguments. He indicated that it should not be published as he intends to “run away”.
He argued that people are confused and covered up because all the courts have decided that Rodríguez does not represent a flight risk, and that Pepca has no other reason to keep him in jail, except for the already completed investigation.
Request for release
The ex-lawyer’s request for release will be revealed next Monday at 9:00 am.
“In this case, Becca publicly expressed to the press that ‘they are armed’ and ‘cannot escape’, so we cannot go to court now to talk about ‘dangers’..”, said lawyer Carlos Balcacer.
