“I’ve Been to Hell and Back”

(CNN) — Jamie Foxx is speaking out for the first time since being hospitalized for an undisclosed medical condition in April.

The award-winning actor and composer posted an update Instagram video Friday night fans.

In the video, Foxx doesn’t reveal the details of what happened, but there’s been a lot of speculation as to what led to her hospitalization.

“I know a lot of people are waiting or wanting to hear updates, but to be honest with you, I don’t want to see it like this, man,” he said. “I want them to see me laughing, having fun, partying, telling jokes, making movies, doing a TV show. I don’t want them to see me with tubes coming out of me and trying to figure out if I can make it.”
Fox credits her daughter and sister for saving her life.

“To them, to God, to so many great medical people, I can leave this video,” he said. “I can’t tell you how good it is to have your family step in like that, they kept it tight, they didn’t let anything slip, they protected me, I’m sure everyone gets it in times like this.”

Fox has been seen in Chicago in recent weeks while undergoing medical treatment at a center that specializes in rehabilitation for patients with physical disabilities, brain or spinal cord injuries.

Foxx set the record straight about the rumors on social media.

“As you can see, the eyes work, the eyes work well. I’m not disabled, but I’ve been to hell and back, and my road to recovery is bumpy. But I’m back, and I can work.”

The video comes hours after Fox posted a photo of himself on top of a gold car with the caption “Greater things to come.”

The Oscar-winner ended the video: “I love everybody, I love all the love that I’ve got… If you see me out there every time I’m in tears, it’s because it’s been hard, man. I was sick, man. But now my legs are under me, so they will come with me.
