Institutional liaison between the Ministry of Science and Technology and CONICET

The authorities and teams of both institutions have come together to advance the formulation of agendas to advance inter-institutional projects in science and technology.

Minister of Science and Technology, Alicia Banuelos, on Thursday met with the director of the Constituent San Luis Science and Technology Center, Antonio Ramirez Pastor, to discuss science and technology activity in the province, and agree to formulate agendas for promotion. Inter-institutional projects in science and technology.

Also in attendance was CCT CONICET San Luis Deputy Director Daniel Enriz. Person in charge of CCT CONICET Technology Liaison Office San Luis, Santiago Calzetti; UNSL Science and Technology Secretary, Sebastian Andujar; Head of the Digital Society Program, Nestor Arellano; Head of the Scientific Literacy Subprogramme, Andrea Engano; and Technology Link San Luis, Victoria Scalenghe.

“It was the first meeting between the two institutions to begin work on strategies to enhance the Saint Luis science and technology system, to develop common agendas to advance science and technology projects, and to discuss the present and future of science in Saint Luis”The Minister of Science and Technology, Alicia Banuelos, noted.

For his part, Director of CONICET San Luis Antonio Ramirez Pastor confirmed this “Both parties agree on how to integrate each other into our goals.”.

“From the Government of San Luis, Minister Banuelos expressed interest in contributing to everything that would improve the quality of science being done by San Luis community scientists, and contributing from the Government to the training of human resources, equipment and infrastructure to improve our work. The Director of CCT CONICET San Luis said that hearing this is very important to us and I will send it tomorrow at an internal meeting that I will have with all the directors of our community institutes.

Ramirez Pasteur highlighted the importance of basic research, as it helps growth, but with a strong commitment to prioritizing areas or issues that involve the needs of Saint Luis. “From our point of view as members of the scientific community in St. Louis, who were at the meeting representing CONICET and UNSL, we declare that we want to give very important priority in our activities to all those who also imply a need for a boycott. He stressed that the expression of the will by the parties allows us to start working with a dynamism that will be very rich for all of St. Louis.”

Other focus of the meeting revolved around the national “Equip Science” call, where CONICET will present its application to order the equipment. “We will seek to focus the presentation so that they are of interest to researchers and also serve the needs of the social-productive sector in our province,” Ramirez Pastor said, declaring that they “discussed the need to encourage children and young people. People engage in science, awaken a scientific career and work on an outreach program to these sectors.
