Liviu Draknia, the former head of the PSD, was taken to DNA headquarters in Bucharest on Thursday in connection with his 2017 visit to the United States.

PSD reportedly paid $ 100,000 to US lobby Madison & Co to facilitate the meeting of Social Democrat leader Livy Draknia with Vice President Mike Pence, House Speaker Paul Ryan and other influential political figures. He is currently incarcerated at Rahova Prison, where he was sentenced in May 2019 to three-and-a-half years in prison for abusing a position in a fictitious employment case at DGASBC Teleman.
